Chronology of Diplomatic Relations

Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Slovenia were established on January 18, 1993

Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Slovenia:

  • Irakli Koplatadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (with residence in Ljubljana) 2018 - to date;
  • Zurab Bekaia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (with residence in Ljubljana) 2014-2018;
  • Alexander Nalbandov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (with residence in Bratislava) 2011-2014;
  • Alexander Chkuaseli (Chargé d’affaires with residence in Ljubljana) 2011-2014.
  • Nikoloz Nikolozishvili (with residence in Bratislava) 2006 –2011;
  • Zaur Gamsakhurdia (with residence in Tbilisi) 2004 – 2005;
  • Giorgi Arsenishvili (with residence in Vienna) 2001 – 2004.

In 2011 Georgia opened the Embassy to the Republic of Slovenia
In 2014 Georgian Ambassador was appointed at the Republic of Slovenia with residence in Ljubljana.
