Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Slovenia were established on January 18, 1993

- Zurab Bekaia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (with residence in Ljubljana) 2014-2018;
- Alexander Nalbandov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (with residence in Bratislava) 2011-2014;
- Alexander Chkuaseli (Chargé d’affaires with residence in Ljubljana) 2011-2014.
- Nikoloz Nikolozishvili (with residence in Bratislava) 2006 –2011;
- Zaur Gamsakhurdia (with residence in Tbilisi) 2004 – 2005;

In 2011 Georgia opened the Embassy to the Republic of Slovenia
In 2014 Georgian Ambassador was appointed at the Republic of Slovenia with residence in Ljubljana.
