On the occasion of the 18th  anniversary of the 2008 Russia-Georgia war, the national flags are flown at half-mast at the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as at Georgia’s diplomatic representations and consular offices abroad, to honour the memory of those who lost their lives.

On May 28, in Ljubljana, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Konstantine Surguladze, participated in an event of heads of diplomatic missions organized by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, in cooperation with the Slovenian Forestry Institute and the Slovenian Forest Service. The event focused on sustainable forest management, environmental protection and the challenges posed by climate change.

On May 26, 2026, a ceremonial reception dedicated to Georgia’s Independence Day was held at the Slovenian Philharmonic Hall in Slovenia. The reception was attended by representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of the Republic of Slovenia, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, representatives of international organizations, academic and cultural circles, the media, and the Georgian diaspora.
