On the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the 2008 Russia-Georgia war, the national flags are flown at half-mast at the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as at Georgia’s diplomatic representations and consular offices abroad, to honour the memory of those who lost their lives.

On June 10 the Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of Slovenia continued its series of Georgian film screenings in Slovenia in cooperation with the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television of the University of Ljubljana.
Forest Diplomacy and Global Partnerships for Environmental Sustainability
On May 28, in Ljubljana, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Konstantine Surguladze, participated in an event of heads of diplomatic missions organized by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, in cooperation with the Slovenian Forestry Institute and the Slovenian Forest Service. The event focused on sustainable forest management, environmental protection and the challenges posed by climate change.
Georgia Independence Day celebration in Ljubljana
On May 26, 2026, a ceremonial reception dedicated to Georgia’s Independence Day was held at the Slovenian Philharmonic Hall in Slovenia. The reception was attended by representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of the Republic of Slovenia, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, representatives of international organizations, academic and cultural circles, the media, and the Georgian diaspora.
Partnership between Tbilisi and Ljubljana
Georgian Ambassador to Slovenia, H.E. Konstantine Surguladze, together with representatives of the Embassy of Georgia, held a meeting with Deputy Mayors of Ljubljana Mr. Dejan Crnek and Prof. Janez Koželj – Chief Architect, and the representatives of Ljubljana Municipality as well as Director and Deputy Director of Ljubljana Castle Ms. Mateja Valentan and Mr. Marko Brunskole.
