Premiere of a documentary about Georgia and Kvevari wine

On November 4, in Maribor, the second largest city of Slovenia bordering Austria the premiere/screening of the Slovenian documentary film Call it Amber about Georgia and Kvevri wine was held in the cultural center, co-organized by the Mayor of Maribor, Mr. Aleksander (Saša) Arsenovič and the Embassy of Georgia.

After the screening a discussion with the film crew led by a popular Slovenian TV anchor and the author of another documentary film about Georgia, Ms. Moica Mavec was held, followed with a Georgian Kvevri wine testing reception for the invited guests, who were addressed by the Georgian Ambassador  and the Mayor of Maribor. The event was attended by the representatives of Slovenian wine business and cultural spheres, was covered by Slovenian television (see link below).

With the support of the Embassy, the film was shot in Georgia and the film crew hosted by the National Tourism Administration of Georgia together with the National Wine Agency of Georgia, for which we once again express our gratitude. This summer, the screening of the film was held in Koper, the largest port city of Slovenia, bordering Italy. As a result of the responses received, it should be noted that the screening of the mentioned film in both Maribor and Koper was the best advertisement for Georgia and Georgian kvevri wine in Slovenia.

The authors of the film would like to organize its premiere in Tbilisi, Georgia as well (probably within the framework of the wine festival in 2023) and after the screening on Georgian TV channels.
