The series of Georgian film screenings in Ljubljana continued with the screening of Kartlos Khotivari’s ‘Serenade’ and Eldar Shengelaia’s ‘An Unusual Exhibition’

On June 10 the Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of Slovenia continued its series of Georgian film screenings in Slovenia in cooperation with the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television of the University of Ljubljana.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Georgian diaspora, and Ljubljana’s cultural and business communities had the opportunity to watch two acclaimed Georgian films: Serenade by Kartlos Khotivari and An Unusual Exhibition by Eldar Shengelaia.

The event opened with welcoming remarks by Prof. Miran Zupanič, Vice-Dean of the Academy, followed by a performance by the Slovenian choir Kvali, which presented Georgian polyphonic folk songs.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Slovenia, H.E. Mr. Konstantine Surguladze, addressed the audience and shared introductory remarks on the films and their significance within Georgian cinema.

The screening was organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, the Georgian National Film Center, and the University of Ljubljana Arts Foundation.
